The Boston Celtics are searching for answers after being ousted by the Brooklyn Nets in the first round.

Led by Jayson Tatum, the Boston Celtics have a talented young core to build around. But when you lose 4-1 in the first round of the NBA Playoffs against a super-team like the Brooklyn Nets, you’re left looking for more.

This offseason is full of big decisions for the Celtics. Changes are inevitable with Danny Ainge resigning and Brad Stevens shifting into a front office role.

Here are three important moves they must make.

3. Hire a new head coach

Duh. Finding someone to step into Stevens’ former place as head coach has to be the most immediate priority for Boston. Given that he’s staying with the organization, Stevens himself may have someone in mind as a potential replacement or at least some suggestions for the type of coach who’d be a good fit.

The competition in the NBA’s Eastern Conference is more difficult than it has been in years. Whoever gets installed as Boston’s new head coach will set the tone for the team moving forward.
