Logan Paul boasts nothing is ‘impossible’ during respectful post-fight interview (Video)
YouTuber Logan Paul made it through the final bell against retired boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. Here’s what he had to say after the fight.
Many expected retired all-time boxing great Floyd Mayweather Jr. to knock out the bigger, younger YouTuber Logan Paul. Paul surprised some, including Mayweather, by finishing the fight on his feet. Paul seemed pretty happy with the way things went, even though Mayweather clearly outboxed him.
The 26-year-old Paul didn’t stand much of a chance against Mayweather in their exhibition, but his size helped him take some nasty punches from Mayweather. He used his reach and weight to hold Mayweather whenever he got in close. Those clinches allowed Paul to survive the fight.
“S**t man, I don’t want anyone to tell me anything is impossible ever again,” Paul told Brian Custer after the fight. “The fact that I’m in here with one of the greatest boxers of all time proves that the odds can be beat.”
Paul is right on that point. The fact that he could build his popularity to the point where he fought Mayweather in a Showtime pay-per-view event is absolutely incredible.
Logan Paul went all 8 and showed respect to Floyd Mayweather Jr. after the fight
“Floyd Mayweather, it was an honor,” said Paul. “I hate being a d**khead. I love you guys. I love all you guys. It was one of the greatest moments of my life. Damn, I’m happy.”
Paul did admit that he’s going to wonder if Mayweather took it easy on him.
“I’m going to go home thinking, did Floyd let me survive? Like, he’s one of the GOATS. In many ways, he controls this sport to the T. That’s what makes him great. It was an honor to grace the ring with him.”
Paul was very respectful of Mayweather during the post-fight interview and was very happy to go eight rounds with Mayweather. That is quite a feat, and Paul overperformed expectations even though the fight wasn’t spectacular to watch.
