The Phoenix Suns will host the Denver Nuggets for Game 2 of the Western Conference Semifinals on Wednesday night in Arizona.

The Phoenix Suns took a 1-0 series lead over the Denver Nuggets with a 122-105 blowout on Monday night. Can NBA MVP Nikola Jokic help his team even things up, or will Devin Booker and company take a 2-0 lead heading to Denver?

Even without 11-time NBA All-Star Chris Paul at full strength, the Suns are proving they’re a force to be reckoned with. Any team that finishes above .700 is going to have high expectations for the playoffs, and thus far, the Suns are living up to them.

Phoenix finished Game 1 with all five starters scoring in double figures and four guys with 20 points or more. They shot 54.1 percent from the field with 30 assists on 46 made buckets and also narrowly won the battle on the boards. The Suns held Jokic to 22 points on 10-of-23 shooting and somehow kept him off the free-throw line entirely.

The Nuggets, meanwhile, will need to ramp up their defensive efforts to try to steal a game on the road. Finding inside looks and getting to the line more than six times should help too. We expect the team to want to celebrate the franchise’s first-ever MVP award winner with a victory on Wednesday night. Expect a big night for the Serbian big man and a hyped-up supporting cast.

Grab some popcorn, NBA fans! Game 2 should be a thriller.
