With Ronald Acuña going down with an apparent right leg injury, here are three short-term replacement options for the Atlanta Braves.

The Atlanta Braves‘ 2021 campaign has not gone to plan thus far, mostly due to the numerous injuries they had to deal with on their roster On Saturday, the Braves saw star outfielder Ronald Acuña go down with a potentially serious right leg injury as he tried to field a fly ball during their game against the Miami Marlins. After attempting to walk off the field under his own power, Acuña sat down in tears and waited to be carted off to the dugout.

It is currently unknown how long Acuña will be out of action, as we await official update from the team. With their star out ahead of indefinitely at the moment, the Braves must prepare to replace him in the short-term. Here are three players they can throw in right field with Acuña out of action.

Ehire Adrianza

We begin with possibly the easiest option for the Braves, and that is to promote their backup into a starter’s role. In this case, we are talking about Ehire Adrianza.

This winter, the Braves signed Adrianza to a minor-league deal after spending the first eight years of his MLB career split between the San Francisco Giants (2013-16) and Minnesota Twins (2017-20). Adrianza shined in spring training, as he slashed .400/.500/.700 while recording two home runs, 12 RBI, nine runs scored and 16 hits, earning himself a spot on the major league roster.

Through 65 games with the Braves this season, Adrianza has recorded a .264 batting average, a .794 OPS, four home runs, 23 RBI, 21 runs scored and 32 hits.

You can expect Adrianza to get the start in right field as soon as Sunday afternoon in Miami.
