With the debut of 3×3 women’s basketball making its rounds in the 2021 Olympics, we have all the info you need for start times, venues and updates.

3×3 basketball is making its debut appearance in the 2021 Olympics this year and it’s been making its rounds in the news over the past few hours on the women’s circuit. But not for the best reasons, unfortunately.

Monday afternoon, Katie Lou Samuelson of Team USA tested positive for COVID-19. Though she’s fully vaccinated, she was still able to contract the virus or one of its variants, resulting in her pulling out of competition. Jackie Young has taken her place as of Tuesday morning.

Hopefully, no one else tests positive between now and check-ball for the women’s tournament. But speaking of that, what time does all of this start?

The women’s 3×3 basketball tournament at the 2021 Olympics begins on July 23

Date: July 23-28
Time: 9:15 p.m. (EST)
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Venue: Aomi Urban Sports Park
Live Stream: NBC Sports, NBCOlympics, Peacock

Because Japan is 13 hours ahead of the United States, we’ll end up missing a lot of games based on scheduling. But you can catch the first game between Russia and host, Japan at 9:15 p.m. on Friday, July 23. But don’t get too comfortable, all games aren’t starting at this time.

For Team USA, their first game kicks off at a bright (really still dark) and early 4:55AM! So if you want to watch the sunset and watch the Women’s team take on France, just make sure you have your alarms set ahead of time.
