5-star wideout Brandon Innis just committed to Oklahoma, but he sure made it look like he was going to be Alabama-bound first.

Lincoln Riley and the Oklahoma Sooners keep crushing it out on the recruiting trail. This continued on Sunday, with 5-star wide receiver Brandon Innis announcing on CBS that he’ll be taking his talents to OU as a member of the 2023 class.

In a bit of a troll job, though, the stud wideout actually grabbed an Alabama hat first, making it seem like he was going to give Nick Saban his verbal. Instead, he pulled a fast one and ended up picking the Sooners.

That was quite the move there by Innis, as it really did look like he was going to rock with the Crimson Tide. Instead, Riley and his coaching staff are the ones who are fired up right now following the big news.

Throughout his recruitment, the 6-foot-0, 190-pound speedster picked up 36 offers. In the end, he chose Oklahoma over fellow finalists Alabama, Ohio State, Florida and Miami. According to the 247Sports Composite, Innis is the No. 1 wide receiver in the country for ’23 and the No. 9 player overall.

Obviously, this is a massive get for Riley. His 2023 class is already off to a brilliant start too, as Riley has received pledges from 5-stars in Innis, quarterback Malachi Nelson and athlete Makai Lemon. Nelson is the No. 2 quarterback in the country and the No. 1 player from California.

With 2021 expected to be a major year for the Sooners on the gridiron, you already know even more pledges are going to be on the way for Riley. He and his staff are unreal when it comes to recruiting, there’s no doubt about that.
