In a showdown against Reims on Sunday, Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi made his debut with the club. 

After a bit of a wait, Lionel Messi was able to put on a Paris Saint-Germain jersey and take the field for his official debut with his new club. While it looks a bit weird to see Messi don anything other than a Barcelona kit, history was made on Sunday.

One of the best players of all time, Messi joined PSG on a two-year deal after his new contract with Barcelona fell through. He came on to the pitch in place of Neymar Jr. on Sunday, earning valuable minutes in PSG’s 2-0 victory.

This is surely a moment that PSG fans will never forget. While Cristiano Ronaldo made countless headlines this week with him returning to Manchester United, Messi was able to once again steal the show with his showing on Sunday.

With the Argentine sensation now in Paris, fans are dreaming winning the Champions League this year. Messi knows this team has what it takes to get the job done. For him, Sunday marked the first day of trying to make those hopes become a reality.
