2. Ja’Marr Chase continues to dominate

Ja’Marr Chase had a weird preseason and training camp for the Cincinnati Bengals. It was clear he was feeling the effects of opting out of his final season with the LSU Tigers, and it took him a minute to get back up to speed. With the strong receiving core in Cincinnati of Tee Higgins and Tyler Boyd already in place, it seemed likely this year could work as a redshirt year. However, it’s clear the chemistry between Joe Burrow and Chase is impalpable.

Chase went for five catches, 101 yards, and a touchdown against the Minnesota Vikings. Not bad for his first official NFL game. He had a deep threat presence that nobody on the Bengals has currently. Sure, Penei Sewell still seems like a miss for the Bengals, but they got themselves quite the receiver in Chase.

The Bengals are taking on the Chicago Bears. They allowed just under 24 points to Cooper Kupp, 16 points to Van Jefferson, and 12 points to Robert Woods. The Bears secondary isn’t exactly stopping any of these receivers from scoring points. Chase is going to get his again this week. This is a great matchup for the Cincinnati passing game.
