The New England Patriots hit the road to take on the New York Jets in Week 2 of the NFL season.

The New England Patriots will face the New York Jets in a Week 2 matchup this Sunday. Both teams coming off Week 1 losses will look to get into the win column this week.

For the Patriots, this is the second divisional opponent in as many games. It’s too early in the season to seriously call this a “must-win”, but New England not only starting 0-2, but falling behind in the division that far this early, isn’t going to do them any favors.

After a brutal fumble sealed a defeat to the Miami Dolphins, Bill Belichick’s squad needs to prove that the rust can be shaken off and that this team is capable of contending in a new-look AFC East.

Then there’s the Jets. Oh the poor New York Jets rand rookie quarterback, Zach Wilson. There will be an attempt to rebound after a rollercoaster loss to the Carolina Panthers, but the deck is stacked against it. To be fair, Wilson flashed some promise in Week 1, throwing for 258-yards and two touchdowns. Unfortunately, he also threw an interception and was sacked six times.

Divisional games are always important, no matter how early in the year. If either team wants to compete for the division, this weekend’s game will be pivotal.
