Derek Carr is getting no respect as a real MVP candidate
By John Buhler
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is not getting any love as a serious MVP candidate.
Derek Carr should be getting more respect as a legit NFL MVP candidate than he is receiving.
The Las Vegas Raiders are 2-0 on the season due in large part to Carr’s great play for the Silver and Black. He is completing 66.7 percent of his passes for 817 yards, four touchdowns and only one interception. However, WynnBET only has him with the 11th best odds to win NFL MVP at +3000. While he may not win it, Carr is better than the 11th best quarterback in the league now.
Carr trails the likes of Josh Allen (+1100), Dak Prescott (+1500) and Justin Herbert (+2000).
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Derek Carr is a serious NFL MVP candidate
Though it is incredibly early, this is some of the best football we have seen out of Carr since his breakout campaign of 2016. The Raiders were a playoff team that year. Unfortunately, he broke his ankle on Christmas Eve, and the Raiders fell apart. Now that his physical traits have aligned with his improved mental acumen at the position, Carr can lead the Raiders to the postseason.
If the Raiders do make the NFL Playoffs, he has to be near the front of the line for league MVP.
