Tua Tagovailoa has officially been ruled out for the Miami Dolphins’ Week 3 game.

Making the start for the Miami Dolphins on Sunday will be Jacoby Brissett, as head coach Brian Flores has ruled out starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa due to injury.

While the initial tests came back negative on Tagovailoa’s injured ribs from Week 2’s brutal loss to the division rival Buffalo Bills, fractures have been revealed. Though Brissett is more than capable of starting games for them, Miami will be at a major disadvantage for when they take on the 2-0 Las Vegas Raiders on the road this Sunday. Miami could fall to 1-2 after its Week 3 game.

Flores did say Tagovailoa will not go on Injured Reserve, as this is more of a “week-to-week” thing.

Tua Tagovailoa injury update: Dolphins quarterback ruled out for Week 3

This is only the first quarter of Tagovailoa’s second season out of Alabama, but he is quickly becoming the next Sam Bradford at the NFL level. Immensely talented, but a constant struggle to stay healthy. Like his prototype, Bradford too dealt with a myriad of injuries playing at his traditional power in college. For Miami, the Dolphins may soon regret not drafting Justin Herbert.

If this is “week-to-week” injury, maybe Tagovailoa can return for the Dolphins as early as Week 4?
