Mike McGlinchey laughs in the face of those who doubted the Notre Dame football team.

As he prepares for NFL Week 3 on Sunday, former Notre Dame football star lineman Mike McGlinchey questioned who anyone could ever doubt the Golden Domers in a big spot like this.

Notre Dame obliterated the Wisconsin Badgers at Soldier Field on Saturday 41-13 to stay perfect. Jack Coan won his revenge game, as the Golden Domers will push for a top-10 spot in the next AP Top 25 poll. While the Irish were going to regress a bit after last season, the San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle knows what is up. His alma mater’s football team is elite and here to stay.

Destroying No. 18 Wisconsin on Big Noon Saturday was the statement win Notre Dame needed.

Former Notre Dame football star Mike McGlinchey knows the Irish are legit

There is no luck with this team. The Irish are well-coached, as head coach Brian Kelly just passed the legendary Knute Rockne on the school’s all-time wins list. Until proven otherwise, Notre Dame will remain a fixture in the New Year’s Six and stay in contention for College Football Playoff berths for the foreseeable future. Wisconsin is no good, but that win by Notre Dame was massive.

Deny it all you want, but Notre Dame is as good now as it was under Lou Holtz 30 years ago.
