Spencer Rattler transferring from Oklahoma is all but inevitable at this point. When he enters the portal, where would the quarterback be the best fit?

Spencer Rattler transfer rumors began flying off the cuff as soon as the Heisman favorite entering the season was replaced by freshman Caleb Williams against Texas. And since Williams has only held onto the starting job for the Oklahoma Sooners since then, Rattler transferring feels as inevitable as anything in college football (assuming he doesn’t try to head for the NFL).

There have been many possible destinations already speculated upon as to where Rattler could transfer, including the talent-needy Arizona Wildcats, which would be a return home for the quarterback.

However, if we’re looking at where Spencer Rattler would be the best fit, then these five teams have to be in the conversation once he eventually enters the transfer portal.

5. Spencer Rattler best transfer fit: UCLA Bruins

Throughout his time starting under Chip Kelly at UCLA, Dorian Thompson-Robinson has been a fantastic college football player. His athleticism has consistently given the Bruins a dynamic element on offense, which has thrived as a rushing team throughout the entire 2021 season.

After this season, however, there’s a good chance that DTR could either transfer or throw his hat into the NFL Draft. That could leave Kelly and UCLA looking for options on how they can move on or upgrade from the presence they’ve had for some time in the program.

That’s where Rattler would obviously potentially come into play. And what’s interesting is how the big-armed quarterback could elevate the Bruins offense.

For as athletic and talented as Thompson-Robinson is, his limitations as a passer have sometimes held UCLA’s offense back, especially with how dangerous the run game has been for them. Rattler isn’t a perfect player, but his cannon-arm and ability to make throws could add a new element to the offense moving forward.
