Spanish broadcast call of Portland Timbers dramatic equalizer is magical (Video)
It looked as if the Portland Timbers were about to lose the MLS Cup final to New York City FC but a late equalizer kept them alive.
Providence Park was still bumping but the fate of the Portland Timbers in the MLS Cup final did not look favorable. New York City FC scored a first-half goal that put them ahead. And that 41st-minute goal and lead held firm for 50+ minutes.
That put the Timbers into desperation mode as they tried to just stay alive. With four minutes of injury time added to regulation, it was do or die. Portland chose to do.
With the final seconds ticking away, the Timbers were in the box trying to find the right opportunity. After a couple of attempts were turned away by defenders, Felipe Mora got an open look and put it past the NYCFC keeper to level the score in the literal final minute of regulation to force extra time.
