After Deion Sanders stole No. 1 recruit Travis Hunter, Florida State fans are beyond frustrated with the Seminoles legend.
How in the world could Deion Sanders do this to his alma mater? Entering Wednesday, Florida State fans were fired up to see 5-star cornerback Travis Hunter, the No. 1 recruit in the country, make things official with the Seminoles. Well, there was a change in plans.
Instead, Sanders and Jackson State came in at the final hour and were able to steal him away. Hearts are broken all over Tallahassee. Matter of fact, countless folks are furious with Sanders for doing this. It’s one thing to lose a top recruit on Signing Day, but when it comes from a program legend? Oh, it really stings.

For someone to say that Sanders is dead to them, well, that’s taking things a bit far. With that said, FSU fans are disgusted with Sanders. Does he not love Florida State? In the eyes of many, he wouldn’t have flipped a 5-star player if he did indeed still care about the school.
At the end of the day, though, this is recruiting. While Sanders may still support Florida State, it’s his job to try and land the best possible players for his current program. Hunter had scholarships from the biggest programs across the country, but the idea of Sanders trying to help him chase his NFL dreams was something he couldn’t pass up on.
Now, everyone at Florida State will have to wonder what could have been for the 2022 standout if he made it to campus. For Sanders, he’s of course ecstatic knowing that Hunter will be ready to make plays for him starting next fall.
