Georgia football legend David Pollack was pumped to see his Dawgs win the Orange Bowl.

David Pollack could not have been happier to see the Georgia football program clobber Michigan in the Orange Bowl.

The legendary defensive lineman turned ESPN college football analyst may prove to be Nostradamus at season’s end. Way back during Week 0, Pollack picked his alma mater to go 12-0 heading into the SEC Championship game. He predicted a conference title bout loss to Alabama, but foresees Georgia redeeming itself vs. the Crimson Tide to win the College Football Playoff.

Pollack and the rest of Dawg Nation are one win away from making 1980 a thing of the past.

While Georgia’s season will inevitably be defined by how it plays Alabama a second time, it is hard to not be optimistic about the Dawgs after seeing what they did to Jim Harbaugh’s Michigan Wolverines. The game was over almost instantly. Michigan had no chance to contain Jordan Davis, Nakobe Dean and the rest of the hungry Dawgs defense. Pollack had to love every second of it.

Though Nick Saban will try to play the underdog card, Pollack may be further proven right by his ESPN colleague Peter Burn’s affirmation of the SEC title bout loss being a blessing in disguise for Georgia. The Dawgs might have the slightly more talented roster, but none of that will matter if Georgia falls to Alabama for the umpteenth time in a row. Will Pollack be right about his Dawgs?

This is the second playoff game and the fourth New Year’s Six Bowl game Kirby Smart’s team has won in the last five seasons.
