Here are the latest rumors surrounding Green Bay Packers starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

Aaron Rodgers is coming off his fourth NFL MVP season, but it remains to be seen if he will keep on playing for the Green Bay Packers, retire or go try and finish out his career somewhere else.

In his first-ballot Pro Football Hall of Fame career, Rodgers has only played for the Packers. After being drafted out of Cal in 2005, Rodgers backed up Brett Favre for three years before getting his shot to lead the team in 2008. Two years later, Rodgers won the Packers their most recent Super Bowl. While 2010 was not that long ago, it was eons ago in the NFL world, so that is a huge issue.

Here are the latest rumors regarding Rodgers heading into Super Bowl 56 on Sunday evening.

Packers prepared to go “all-in” to keep Aaron Rodgers

The Packers are prepared to extend Rodgers, as well as provide him with upgrades wherever necessary, even if it puts them up against the cap for years to come.

Mark Murphy wants Aaron Rodgers to come back to Green Bay Packers for 2022

In his column for the team website, Packers president and CEO Mark Murphy made it a point to say the organization is completely behind having Rodgers return to Green Bay in 2022.

"“Matt (LaFleur), Brian (Gutekunst), executive vice president/director of football operations Russ Ball and I are all in agreement that we want Aaron to come back. “He is likely to win his fourth league MVP, is the unquestioned leader of our team and is still playing at a high level at 38. Although we will face many challenges this offseason, I have tremendous confidence in Matt, Brian and Russ.”"

After winning his second consecutive NFL MVP, it is good to hear that all of the Packers’ brass wants Rodgers back in the building for another run at a Lombardi if he will have them.

Charles Woodson says the Green Bay Packers need to trade Aaron Rodgers

One of the best players on the 2010 Packers defense who helped Rodgers get his only Super Bowl was Pro Football Hall of Fame defensive back Charles Woodson. With Woodson having successfully pivoted to a great media career he said the following to his FOX colleague Peter Schrager on Good Morning Football.

"“If I’m putting my GM hat on, I’m thinking about trading Aaron Rodgers.”"

Putting Rodgers on the trading block would fetch the Packers quite the return. However, it would truly signify the end of an era. Either Green Bay will hand over the keys to the offense to unproven Jordan Love with an influx of talent coming the Packers’ way from the Rodgers trade, or they will go with another signal-caller instead of the project entering year three out of Utah State in 2022.

Aaron Rodgers: “We’ll see” about the Denver Broncos at the WM Phoenix Open

A tortured Denver Broncos fan yelled at Rodgers during the WM Phoenix Open last week “Come to Denver!” Instead of nipping it in the bud, Rodgers added more gasoline to the fire with a simple response of “we’ll see.” Denver has long been the likeliest trade destination for Rodgers. They play in the other conference and just hired Nathaniel Hackett as their next head coach, so “we’ll see.”

Aaron Jones cannot see Aaron Rodgers playing anywhere else but Green Bay

The guy Rodgers hands the ball off to has some thoughts on the situation. Aaron Jones has flourished playing alongside Rodgers and in Matt LaFleur’s run-heavy Packers offense. He believes “in [his] heart [Rodgers] will be back.” Jones remains unconvinced Rodgers would actually leave.

"“Green Bay, I can’t imagine him anywhere else, that’s where he’s been his whole career. I just can’t picture him anywhere else. I think we had a lot of fun this year, I hope to have him back and I believe in my heart he’ll be back.”"

So this makes Murphy, general manager Brian Gutekunst, LaFleur and Jones all hoping Rodgers sticks it out with Green Bay going forward.

Matt LaFleur said there are “no updates” on the Aaron Rodgers situation

LaFleur said on the red carpet ahead of NFL Honors that while there are “no updates” on the Rodgers situation, “everybody in that organization, everybody in that city certainly would love to see him retire a Packer.” This is more in line with what Murphy put out in a post on the team website earlier in the week. Again, the key pieces in the Packers brass are united on this issue.

Mike Golic Sr. believes there is a chance Aaron Rodgers could be coming home

Mike Golic Sr. said to FanSided’s Mark Carman one place where Rodgers could end up is with the San Francisco 49ers. This is the team that famously passed on Rodgers for Alex Smith with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2005 NFL Draft. San Francisco is the team Rodgers grew up rooting for. While he has beaten them during the regular season, they have been his NFC playoffs nemesis.

For this to happen, Rodgers would go to the 49ers and Jimmy Garoppolo would be going to a team he openly hates, the Packers! While Garoppolo has surely played his last game in San Francisco, he is more likely to end up with the Pittsburgh Steelers or the Tampa Bay Buccaneers than Green Bay. The 49ers want to move forward with Trey Lance, but what’s Love got to do (got to do) with it?

Green Bay Packers hire former Cal teammate of Aaron Rodgers to coaching staff

After hiring former Las Vegas Raiders interim head coach Rich Bisaccia to be their new special teams coordinator, the Packers have added Byron Storer to the coaching staff as an assistant special teams coach. Not only are the Packers trying to overhaul the position group, but Storer is a former California Golden Bears teammate of Rodgers. This is something to really speculate over.

While players like Cam Jordan are trying to recruit Rodgers to his team, others like George Kittle are cool with sitting back and enjoying the rumors that come from the quarterbacking offseason carousel. Though there is a chance he could be returning to the Packers for yet another season, the rumors of him potentially being traded to a team like the Broncos is growing louder every day.

Rodgers is a Packer until he is not, but Denver has to be at the front of the line to trade for him.
