Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and actress Shailene Woodley have reportedly called off their engagement, per TMZ.

Rodgers and Woodley dated for nearly two years, but had been separated since around December of last year. The report cited difficulties as Rodgers prioritized his football career, while Woodley at times felt neglected during their relationship.

The Packers quarterback’s extensive dating history will now continue, as his past relationships include racing star Danica Patrick, and actress Olivia Munn. While all of those relationships were unique in their own right, Rodgers admitted he was looking forward to having children with Woodley as recently as March of last year.

“I just think it’d be so fun,” Rodgers said at the time, per TMZ Sports. “I’ve dreamt about what that would be like and I’m really excited about that chapter whenever that comes.”

Woodley defended Rodgers in the midst of his COVID-19 vaccine controversy, posting on Instagram that, “Literally, you all need to calm the f—k down.”

The actress previously commented on her relationship, stating that she was not a huge American sports fan and did not grow up with football. However, she appreciated Rodgers’ stance on life in general.

“I didn’t really grow up with sports, especially American sports,” Shailene admitted, per In Touch Weekly. “It was never really on my radar. When we met, also, I knew he was a football guy, but I didn’t know like what kind of a football guy he was. And I’m still constantly learning.”

Rodgers and Woodley grew apart during the football season, with the former away in Green Bay the majority of the time focusing solely on leading the Packers to the Super Bowl — a feat he ultimately failed at in a loss to the San Francisco 49ers in the divisional round.

“There were too many obstacles. They’re both adults and decided to part amicably,” an insider said, per In Touch.

We wish both parties the best in what must be a tough time for them individually.
