2. Indianapolis Colts

Just like the 49ers, the Colts have a big quarterback decision on their hands with Carson Wentz. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen recently reported that the team will likely either trade him or release him this offseason.

If the Colts cut Wentz by March 18, it’d free up $13.3 million in cap space for next season. This could be another reason for Indianapolis to go after Mathieu. The Colts have a lot of exciting young players on both sides of the ball.

Darius Leonard is the face of the defense, as he’s really become one of the best linebackers. Imagine Leonard also having Mathieu ready to make plays with him. These two would do wonders together.

Indianapolis missed the postseason this past year in embarrassing fashion, completely choking late in the campaign. They sure could help their fans forget about that blunder by signing Mathieu to a new deal.
