Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford is considering all of his options, though his contract doesn’t end until 2023.

Much is in flux for United of late, especially after a 4-1 defeat at the hands of crosstown rivals City in the Manchester Derby. While Manchester City were favored to win, the lopsided scoreline suggests more is at play for Ralf Rangnick’s side.

There’s no guarantee United qualify for the Champions League or Europa League based on their current standing in the table.

Now, star forward Marcus Rashford is actively considering his future. What that means is unclear at this time, as Rashford’s contract runs through 2023 and United have a one-year option after that to extend him.

The following is from The Guardian:

"“Marcus Rashford is considering his future at Manchester United after growing unhappy with his game time under Ralf Rangnick. The forward hopes the situation will improve but is giving serious consideration for the first time to asking for a move from his boyhood club.”"

Marcus Rashford rumors: Could he leave Manchester United?

Rashford would have to initiate a transfer in order to find a new home, as his current contract runs through 2023 at least. He’s only started two of the last 11 games for United. However, to be fair to the club, Rashford missed the first two months of the season with a shoulder injury. Perhaps they’re just playing it safe.

Jadon Sancho and Anthony Elanga have received opportunities in Rashford’s place this season, and have shown promise. Sancho, for example, was a lone bright spot for United in the Manchester Derby.

Hopefully for Manchester United’s sake, this frustration will pass with time.
