UNC basketball was able to upset the No. 1 Baylor Bears on Saturday and people are losing their minds on Twitter from the March Madness.
This is why it’s called March Madness. Despite the No. 1 Baylor Bears being the reigning NCAA champions and being monster favorites against No. 8 North Carolina, the Tar Heels have shocked the country with one of the biggest upsets of the dance thus far.
In a 93-86 overtime win over Baylor on Saturday, North Carolina found a way to come out on top late and it’s now headed to the Sweet 16. This contest was a wild one and people will be talking about it for quite some time.
North Carolina silenced its haters with the win over Baylor
One of the main takeaways was Brady Manek being ejected with 10:08 left in the showdown due to a flagrant 2, but North Carolina, which blew a 25-point lead, managed to close things out down the stretch. As you could have guessed, people are losing their minds on Twitter.

As much as the refs have screwed UNC here, the coaching has been an absolute debacle down the stretch. Yikes.

It was ugly, but that’s some guts without multiple starters in OT against a No. 1 seed.
Many wondered during North Carolina's struggles this season if Hubert Davis was the right person to succeed Roy Williams.

Manek finished with 26 points despite missing most of the second half, while RJ Davis powered things with his 30 points. Everyone was writing North Carolina off as soon as this game hit overtime, but the Tar Heels were able to come through in the clutch despite sending countless fans into panic mode.
Meanwhile for Baylor, it was hoping to repeat and plenty of people had picked them in their brackets. North Carolina decided to ruin those plans on Saturday with its memorable performance. Now, UNC is headed to the Sweet 16, while Baylor will be forced to watch the rest of the tourney from home.
