March Madness continues on Thursday with a Sweet 16 bout between the No. 11 Michigan Wolverines and the No. 2 Villanova Wildcats.
The Villanova Wildcats are one win away from their first Elite Eight bid since they won the national title in 2018.
The team they happened to beat in that championship game, the Michigan Wolverines, are looking to continue their underdog run in this year’s tournament by getting some revenge.
This one between the No. 2 and No. 11 seeds in the South Region should be a good one. Here’s what you need to know going into the game.
Michigan vs. Villanova game time
The Sweet 16 matchup between Michigan and Villanova will tip off at 7:29 p.m. ET from the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

Michigan vs. Villanova prediction
Despite their wildly different seeding, Villanova and Michigan have had similarly comfortable runs in the NCAA Tournament so far. The Wildcats have won two games by an average of 15 points.
They have cruised through their matchups. First, they bested No. 15 Delaware 80-60 in the opening round. A more intriguing matchup with No. 7 Ohio State didn’t trouble them either. They won 71-61
Meanwhile, the Wolverines have progressed with wins of 12 and eight points. The big difference is while Villanova was favored in each of their matchups, Michigan had to pull of big upsets in both of theirs.
The first came against No. 6 Colorado State with Michigan erasing a halftime deficit to win 75-63. The challenge got harder facing No. 3 Tennessee. Against, the Wolverines were down at the half and again they stormed back with an impressive second-half showing. The result: A 76-68 victory.
Villanova is favored by five points but it could be anyone’s game. The Wildcats have been more consistent all season, so they’re the reasonable pick.
Prediction: Villanova will win 74-70.
