Twitter users were convinced that Jim Boeheim was the head coach of the Miami Hurricanes on Friday night.

The last Sweet 16 game of the 2022 NCAA Tournament took place on Friday night, as the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes took on the No. 11 Iowa State Cyclones. The winner would advance to the Elite Eight to take on the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks.

For some Twitter users watching the game, they were totally convinced that Jim Boeheim, head coach of the Syracuse Orange, was standing on the sidelines managing the Hurricanes. No, that was not Jim Boeheim — that was Jim Larranaga.

For those asking if they have ever seen Boeheim and Larranaga in the same room, the answer is yes. The two schools do compete in the Atlantic Coast Conference, and have played against each other.

Long story short, yes the head coach of Miami is named Jim, but does not have a last name of Boeheim.
