No. 2 Villanova and No. 5 Houston will determine who moves on in March Madness from the South Region with an Elite Eight matchup.

With three wins under their belts, Villanova and Houston each come into Saturday’s action hoping they have three games remaining in their NCAA Tournament journey.

The No. 2-seed Wildcats will battle the No. 5 Cougars in the Elite Eight with a Final Four place on the line

The March Madness hasn’t troubled Villanova just yet. Jay Wright’s crew dispatched No. 15 Delaware in the first round, took down No. 7 Ohio State in the second round, then ended No. 11 Michigan’s Cinderella story in the Sweet 16.

On the other hand, Houston has gotten this far by putting the hurt on seeds higher than them. The Cougars rolled through No. 12 UAB then blew out No. 4 Illinois. They proved they’re the real deal by upsetting No. 1 Arizona in their Sweet 16 matchup.

Villanova vs. Houston game time

The Wildcats and Cougars will tip-off on Saturday, March. 25 at 6:09 p.m. ET at the AT&T Center in San Antonio.

Villanova vs. Houston prediction

Kelvin Sampson took Houston to the Final Four last year, so they know what this is all about. They’ll also have a bit of a home-court advantage playing in San Antonio. It may be a three-hour drive but it’s certainly closer than the 1,700-mile trip for Villanova fans.

Wright and company have their own strong history in the NCAA Tournament. He’s no stranger to this environment either.

In terms of matchups, it’s hard to beat the intrigue of these two. They both rank highly in KenPom offense and defense. They are both well-coached. They both have impact players backing a difference in tournament play.

It’s tough to separate them, but sometimes you have to go with the hot hand, and that’s Houston.

Prediction: Houston 65, Villanova 64
