Villanova is the first team to punch its ticket into the Final Four in this year’s March Madness.

As March Madness rolls along, the Villanova Wildcats were the first team to cut down the nets and are heading to the Final Four.

No. 2 Villanova eked out a hard-fought victory over the No. 5 Houston Cougars in the South Regional Final down in San Antonio. This is the seventh time in school history the Wildcats are going to the Final Four, as well as the fourth time Jay Wright has taken his program this far into the NCAA Tournament. With three more spots left, where are the national semifinals this year?

Villanova will not have to travel that far, as this year’s Final Four will be played at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans.

March Madness 2022: Where is the Final Four being played at this year?

This will be the sixth time the Superdome has hosted the men’s Final Four. The first time was back in 1982, followed up by the 1987, 1993, 2003 and 2012 NCAA Tournaments. March Madness will reach its conclusion in the Big Easy for the first time in a decade. New Orleans is a fantastic event town and there are few stadiums with bigger lights in college and pro sports than the Superdome.

One of the biggest challenges of getting this far in the NCAA Tournament is the size of the venue. Not only will there be more butts in the seats in going from arenas to stadiums, but the configuration of the court can be challenging for college kids. The see-through backboards in a stadium of this size certainly takes some getting used to. The Final Four favors the most prepared.

Confetti will be dropped next Monday night and Bourbon Street will be bumping the entire time.
