The Villanova Wildcats are heading to the Final Four after beating the Houston Cougars in the Elite Eight.

For the fourth time under iconic head coach Jay Wright, the Villanova Wildcats are going to the Final Four.

No. 2 Villanova won a hard-contested rock fight over the No. 5 Houston Cougars in San Antonio, 50-44. This is the seventh time Villanova has made it this far in the tournament in school history. The last two times they have made it to the Final Four, the Wildcats went on to win the whole thing (2016 and 2018). So the big question is who awaits them in New Orleans next weekend?

Here is who Villanova will be playing in the national semifinals as part of the Final Four.

March Madness bracket: When does Villanova play in Final Four?

Since Villanova is the first team to punch its ticket into the Final Four, the Wildcats will have to wait and see who their opponent will be in the national semifinals. Because they won the South Regional Final over Houston, they will play the winner of the Midwest Regional Final between the No. 1 Kansas Jayhawks and the No. 10 Miami Hurricanes. They play their Elite Eight game on Sunday.

Kansas is the only No. 1 seed left in the NCAA Tournament. Though Miami is a massive underdog as the No. 10 seed, the Hurricanes are not the least likely team left to advance to the Final Four. That would be the No. 15 Saint Peter’s Peacocks, who are still dancing into the Elite Eight. They will face the No. 8 North Carolina Tar Heels in the East Regional Final on Sunday in primetime.

Villanova basketball fans can rest easy tonight, knowing the Wildcats are going to the Big Easy with a game against either Kansas or Miami on Saturday, April 2 in New Orleans.
