It all started with selection as the No. 1 seed in the Midwest. The Jayhawks faced No. 16 Texas Southern in their first round matchup and got through without any issues, 83-56.

Next up they took on No. 9 Creighton. It was a tight battle throughout but Kansas pulled away when it mattered most, winning 79-72.

The Sweet 16 put No. 4 Providence in front of them next. The Jayhawks kept the Friars at arms length for most of the game but had to see off a late surge to advance to the Elite Eight, 66-61.

No. 10 Miami stood between Kansas and the Final Four. They withstood an early surge to down the upstart Hurricanes, 76-50.

Now they get to take on No. 2 Villanova in New Orleans on Friday.
