Kansas basketball fans are going wild, as the Jayhawks are playing for a national championship!

For the first time since 2012, the Kansas basketball team is playing for a national title.

Bill Self’s squad dominated a depleted Villanova Wildcats team to advance to the national title. The Jayhawks will face the winner of the nightcap between bitter ACC rivals Duke and North Carolina. While Duke vs. UNC has the chance to be an all-timer, Kansas may be the favorite to win it all. They are firing on all cylinders after having played three great halves of basketball in a row.

If Kansas were to win it all on Monday night, it would be the second national championship since Self took over and the sixth in school history.

As Jayhawks fans get to celebrate this big victory over Villanova, they need to pay close attention to the game that happens next.

Though neither team will have more rest than the other, expect for emotions to be high when playing for all the marbles.

Given that both Duke and North Carolina have won national titles more recently than Kansas, it would be a huge deal if the Jayhawks were to come out on top of either the Blue Devils or the Tar Heels. The last time Kansas raised a national championship banner, Derrick Rose was the freshman phenom point guard for the John Calipari-led Memphis Tigers. It has been only 14 years.

Congratulations to the Jayhawks and their proud fanbase to keep on dancing this March Madness.
