The Kansas basketball Twitter account tweeted out pure unadulterated sadness at halftime.

Kansas basketball fans are having a bad time down 15 to North Carolina at halftime of the national championship.

The Jayhawks were playing some terrific basketball heading into the national title bout. Though they had their issues in the first half vs. Miami in the Elite Eight, they surged past the Hurricanes to cut down the nets. After crushing a depleted Villanova team in the Final Four, it seemed like Kansas would be on Easy Street down in The Big Easy. Well, it was a Brady Manek Monday night.

Ladies and gentlemen, the saddest of sad tweets from an official team account at halftime ever.

Kansas basketball Twitter account is not in a good mood right now

Not going to lie, North Carolina being up 15 at the half is quite shocking. Clearly, the idea that they could not sustain the emotional momentum after retiring Coach K was massively overplayed. North Carolina is taking advantage of every opportunity in this clash of college basketball blue-blood titans. If the Tar Heels win, Hubert Davis will do something no other head coach has done.

He would be the first non-interim head coach to lead his team to a national championship as a first-time head coach. North Carolina may be one of the best programs in college basketball history, but for the Tar Heels to potentially win it all with a rookie head coach as a No. 8 seed would be nothing short of incredible. As for Kansas, this would be the epitome of utter sadness.

There are sad halftime tweets and then there is whatever the Kansas basketball account put out.
