The Return: Ryan Garcia vs. Emmanuel Tagoe fight card, start time, channel guide.
Golden Boy Promotions and DAZN travel to San Antonio, TX on Saturday marking the return of lightweight sensation Ryan “KingRy” Garcia (21-0). He will be putting his undefeated record on the line when he meets the rugged veteran Emmanuel Tagoe (32-1).
We haven’t seen the 23-year-old from Victorville, CA, in some time. It’s true, as the last time he stepped foot in the ring was January 2, 2021, against Luke Campbell. That fight saw Garcia hit the canvas for the first time in his career. After going through some mental health challenges and an injury, Garcia is back to regain the momentum he once had 15 months ago.
His opponent, Emmanuel Tagoe, is an 18-year veteran who comes with 15 knockouts in his 32 wins. Although he has faced his share of experienced fighters, he has been out of the ring since November 2020. With a list of potential opportunities awaiting if victorious, Tagoe will be more than motivated to upset the apple card in this one.
In the co-main, we have a unified title fight and one that will award The Ring Magazine title to the victor. WBC flyweight champion Marlen Esparza (11-1) will be facing Tokyo’s WBA flyweight champion Naoko Fujioka (19-2-1). Marlen Esparza makes her 2022 debut after fighting three times last year. Fujioka was last seen in July with a narrow decision victory over Sulem Urbina (12-2-1).
