Skip Bayless turned the UNC collapse against Kansas into a view about Tar Heels legend Michael Jordan.

It’s no secret that Fox Sports Analyst Skip Bayless is a fan of basketball legend Michael Jordan, who played his college basketball at North Carolina.

So, when the Tar Heels blew a 16-point lead and lost to Kansas in the national championship, Bayless made the moment about what Jordan would have thought during the game.

Is it fair to assume that Jordan was watching the game? Yes, after all, it is his alma mater. However, how do we know for sure that it was that exact thought process going through his mind?

Moreover, it isn’t about Jordan; it’s about those kids who came just mere inches from potentially pulling off a historic victory while avoiding a historic collapse.

Skip Bayless made the UNC vs. Kansas National Championship about Michael Jordan

Again, this had nothing to do with Jordan. He was not on the court Monday night. Yes, he did play in a championship game in New Orleans back in 1982 against Patrick Ewing and Georgetown, aka Hoya Paranoia, but this is 2022.

The group that played against Kansas was a team riding high on momentum and undoubtedly talented; or else, they would not have built up the big lead they had to begin with. As the game became closer, we saw just how mentally resilient Kansas was instead of UNC. As such, the Jayhawks are the national champions.

It’s commendable to see just how much Skip Bayless adores Michael Jordan, and rightfully so. However, Monday Night’s championship game, while featuring Jordan’s school, was not about Jordan in any capacity.
