After several days of practice rounds at The Masters, Tiger Woods will make his return to professional golf on Thursday.

In Feb. of 2021, Tiger Woods was involved in a violent car accident near his California home. Many feared for his life and personal well-being, let alone whether he’d actually ever play golf again. His athletic future was on the backburner.

On Tuesday afternoon, Woods uttered the words few ever thought he’d say again: “As of right now I feel like I’m going to play.”

Assuming all goes well on Wednesday, Woods will make an appearance at The Masters. His performance — to all but him, surely — is an afterthought. Considering the violent accident, he is a modern athletic marvel. But we already knew that.

Woods is listed, along with many others hoping to beat him, on the official Masters website.

Few athletes mean more to their sport than Woods does to golf and the PGA Tour. Augusta is always an incredible draw, but when Woods is in contention on a Sunday, there’s little like it in the sports world.

What is Tiger Woods’ net worth?

As of 2022, Woods’ net worth is around $800 million. The man does not need money, he simply loves the sport of golf enough to make the most memorable comeback in the PGA Tour’s history.
