The WWE is helping support the boxing bout between champions Katie Taylor vs. Amanda Serrano, which has enormous historical significance.

The April 30 championship boxing bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano is getting lots of attention, and the WWE is helping support arguably the most significant event in women’s boxing history.

Taylor vs. Serrano is the first female main event at Madison Square Garden. Taylor (20-0, 6 KOs) puts her IBF, WBA, WBC and WBO lightweight titles on the line against seven-division world champion Serrano (42-1-1, 30 KOs).

New York is the perfect location for this contest as it has a massive population of Irish fans, who will support Ireland’s Taylor, and Puerto Rican fans who will turn out in force for Serrano. Serrano was born in Puerto Rico and hails from Brooklyn.

Throw in the hype added by Serrano’s promoter, Jake Paul, and you have a spectacle that can’t miss. The undercard is also stacked, which helps.

Beyond that, the WWE has thrown its weight behind the event. Starting on April 27, the WWE began promoting Taylor vs. Serrano with DAZN. The WWE’s promotional assistance will run through fight night.

The WWE’s Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair were in attendance for the weigh-in between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano

Several WWE superstars are split into Team Taylor and Team Serrano.

Team Taylor is headed by Becky Lynch and consists of Sasha Banks, Finn Balor, Sheamus and Shayna Baszler.

Bianca Belair fronts Team Serrano joined by Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Queen Zelina and Damian Priest.

The social media accounts of all these WWE wrestlers are promoting Taylor vs. Serrano. According to the WWE, the WWE’s efforts should reach an estimated 75 million people on social media.

Paul is famous for his YouTube fame and self-marketing, and it seems to be rubbing off on DAZN. Bringing in the WWE for marketing is a savvy move.

Taylor and Serrano sat down for recorded discussions with their team captains, which are available on the WWE’s YouTube channel and other social media platforms. Lynch and Belair were also at the pre-fight weigh-in.

DAZN’s coverage of Taylor vs. Serrano begins at 3 p.m. ET, and the undisputed lightweight bout should be an exciting highlight of combat weekend.
