Andrew Wiggins is good to go for the Golden State Warriors ahead of Game 3 on Sunday night.

After twisting his ankle in the Game 2 victory over the Dallas Mavericks, Golden State Warriors All-Star wing Andrew Wiggins has been cleared for action in Game 3 on Sunday evening.

The Warriors won the first two games of this best-of-seven Western Conference Finals series over Dallas in San Francisco. If Golden State takes Game 3 on Sunday night in Dallas, the Warriors can pretty much cake walk into the NBA Finals. Of course, Luka Doncic and the boys should be putting forth their best effort in a game where the Mavericks’ season hangs in the balances.

Anthony Slater of The Athletic reported Wiggins went through shootaround on Sunday morning in Dallas before Warriors head coach Steve Kerr said his All-Star wing was cleared to play.

When asked about how the ankle is doing, Wiggins did not really seem to give it much thought at the podium, as he does not believe the twisted ankle will impact his lateral movement in Game 3.

Golden State Warriors: Andrew Wiggins to play in Game 3 vs. Dallas Mavericks

How Game 3 shakes out in Dallas on Sunday night will determine how the rest of the series should play out. If the Mavericks come out and play up to their lofty standards, they can make this thing a series. Should Golden State breeze through this one to take a commanding 3-0 series lead, this one could be over in four or five games. This is why Golden State cannot take its foot off the gas.

Wiggins has been instrumental in this team possibly being the best club out west this season. However, he is fortunate in that he is not the most important player on the deep Golden State roster. The Warriors will go as far as Steph Curry takes them, but he is not a young buck anymore. Though Draymond Green and Klay Thompson knows what it takes, this is pretty much a new core.

Ultimately, not much will be made about Wiggins’ ankle if he plays well, or even if he plays poorly and the Warriors win. On the contrary, should Golden State come out flat and Wiggins gets cooked on more than one occasion defensively, people will look at his pre-game presser and make a big deal over the lateral mobility he tried to sweep under the rug. It is a critical spot for the Warriors.

Look for basketball fans to know very quickly if there is any fight left in those pesky Mavericks.
