The 2022 Indianapolis 500 is here, and racing fans could witness history on Sunday afternoon.

Helio Castroneves could win his fifth Indianapolis 500, winning the race, kissing the bricks and drinking some milk in the process. By doing so, he would break a tie for most Indy 500 victories ever. Castroneves won the race last year, so he’ll be going for back-to-back wins as well.

Who’s won the most Indy 500’s ever?

Castroneves is in a four-way tie with the likes of A.J. Foyt, Rick Mears and Al Unser for most Indianapolis 500 victories ever. The 47-year-old is starting in the 27th position out of 33 drivers, so it’ll be an uphill climb to reach the pole position.

Scott Dixon, Alex Palou and Rinus VeeKay are favored Sunday, and for good reason as they start near the front of the pack.

The Indy 500 is set to start at 12:45 p.m. ET on Sunday, May 29. Of course, that could change by a few minutes given how long the National Anthem goes, or if it takes awhile to line the drivers up as instructed.
