On message boards, some fans of Notre Dame and Nebraska are pushing for their programs to hire Urban Meyer as their head coach.
It may only be Week 3 of the college football season, but there are fanbases that are looking to find a new head coach for their favorite program.
The first domino to fall in the 2022 season was Scott Frost, who was fired as Nebraska Cornhuskers head coach after they lost to Georgia Southern in Week 2. In Week 3, Nebraska fans were openly recruiting former Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Urban Meyer, who was at Memorial Stadium as part of FOX Sportsā Big Noon Kickoff.
Well, Cornhuskers fans have some competition in the form of Notre Dame Fighting Irish fans. As evidenced by comments on message boards.

Notre Dame, Nebraska fans pushing for programs to hire Urban Meyer
Letās be real here, there will be fans of any struggling college football team pushing for them to hire Meyer as their head coach.
Notre Dame picked up their first win of the 2022 season, and head coach Marcus Freemanās first victory as head coach, with a 24-17 win over the California Golden Bears. It was a victory, albeit with a stressful ending where California just missed out on a game-tying, Hail Mary touchdown.
Meanwhile, Nebraska fans were recruiting Meyer as he was in Lincoln for the teamās game against the Oklahoma Sooners. From chanting āWe want Urbanā as he sat on the stage for Big Noon Kickoff, to a couple of fans wearing āHire Urban Meyerā shirts in the stands.
CBS Sportsā Dennis Dodd reported that Nebraska had contacted Meyer, but it was not known if they asked if he was interested in the head coaching job.
Meyer returned to FOX after he lasted less than one season as head coach of the Jaguars, which was filled with multiple controversies, such as allegedly kicking his placekicker, Josh Lambo, in practice, and dancing with a woman who was not his wife after staying behind in Cincinnati following the Jaguarsā loss on Thursday Night Football. Following a 2-11 record, the Jaguars fired him.
Besides his stint with the Jaguars, Meyer has been the subject of controversy during his time with Ohio State and Florida. While he is a successful head coach at the collegiate level, he does have baggage.
Despite that knowledge, fans of college teams are going to be calling for his hiring, whether he is even interested in the job or not.
