Ezekiel Elliott sounds off on people ‘disrespecting’ Dak Prescott (NSFW)
Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott has an NSFW message for people who question Dak Prescott’s status as Dallas’ starting quarterback.
Is Cooper Rush going to Wally Pip Dak Prescott?
That’s a question being asked in Dallas after Rush led the Cowboys to a fourth win in four starts in place of the injured starter.
It’s also a question that has star running back Ezekiel Elliott scoffing in the most NSFW way.
Ezekiel Elliott addresses people disrespecting Dak Prescott
“We’re the Cowboys. People always have something to say about us. F— em,” Elliott said when asked about the disrespect towards Prescott. “All we care about is what’s in this locker room, what’s in this building.”
Rush has certainly done a good job keeping the Cowboys afloat during Prescott’s absence. However, his ceiling is clearly more limited than the starter’s and Jerry Jones continues to stand by Prescott.
In a strange way, that might be exactly why they’re having success with him. The team is winning because of their fierce defensive front and rushing attack. Having Rush behind center has forced the offense to run through Elliott and Tony Pollard with the passing attack taking a back seat.
On Sunday, Elliot carried the ball 22 times for 78 yards. Pollard put on a show with 86 yards on just eight carries, including a 57-yard touchdown run.
Just don’t get it twisted. Rush completed 10-of-16 passes for 102 yards and no touchdowns. Dallas had to settle for three field goals. The offense will eventually need Prescott’s skillset to challenge defenses with a more balanced attack.
The best-case scenario would be for Kellen Moore to learn lessons from this time with Rush and the emphasis on the run game for when Prescott is able to come back.
Prescott told reporters that he is “day-to-day” and is working to get back. However, the timetable for his return is still unknown.
