Packers trade rumors: Chase Claypool

If the Packers want to make a big splash for a semi-affordable price, Chase Claypool could be their best move.

Claypool is coming off an impressive performance against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday. His seven catches and 96 yards led Pittsburgh to a surprising win, and those numbers included two critical grabs on the game’s final drive.

Claypool vibes well with backup quarterback Mitch Trubisky, but thus far has struggled to maintain much consistency. That can be blamed on the offensive coordinator, the system and the quarterback carousel, but the end result remains Claypool not performing as expected.

So, what’s the solution? A trade might be best for both sides.

The Packers would gain a top wideout, something they’re currently lacking. The Steelers could get some draft capital, and part ways with a player much of the fanbase is frustrated with. A fresh start would benefit everyone.
