49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw intercepted Tom Brady and then convinced the Buccaneers quarterback to sign the ball after the game.

It takes a special kind of bravery to ask a quarterback to sign the ball you intercepted off of them. Dre Greenlaw has it apparently.

The 49ers linebacker picked off Tom Brady in the third quarter of San Francisco’s 35-7 blowout of the Bucs.

When the final whistle blew, he found the QB on the field and asked for his autograph.

“The worst thing he could tell me is no,” Greenlaw told reporters.

Brady obviously told him yes. Greenlaw made a play, paid respect to the greatest of all time and he got rewarded with a one-of-a-kind souvenir. Good on him.

And good on Brady for being willing to sign Greenlaw’s INT ball in the first place. It was a rough day for the quarterback, who threw two interceptions, and his team, who got their butts kicked so bad FOX cut away from it. He would have been within his rights to be grumpy and unaccommodating. He wasn’t.

Greenlaw is going to want to remember his day for a long time. He led all players with 15 tackles. He had a pass breakup and an interception while helping the stout 49ers defense absolutely shut down Tampa Bay. Meanwhile, he got to watch as Brock Purdy made history with the SF offense on a roll.

The 49ers don’t have a lot of time to celebrate this one. They have to get ready for Thursday Night Football against the Seahawks in just a few games.
