The Dallas Cowboys had a chance to clinch a playoff spot against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but that’ll have to wait until next week.

To be clear, Dallas will make the postseason. It’s a matter of when, not if. However, failing to do so against the Jacksonville Jaguars, of all teams, is rough.

Losing in overtime on a fluke of a turnover makes matters even more painful.

One of the detractors of being ‘America’s Team‘ is that there will also be a surplus of fans waiting for said team to fail. Dallas Cowboys fans have learned this all too well in recent years.

Cowboys haters out in full force after overtime loss to Jaguars

It should come as no surprise to Cowboys fans that when they failed to clinch a playoff spot, they also opened the floodgates. To be far, there haven’t been many opportunities to troll America’s Team this season. For the most part, they’ve been a well-oiled machine.

Unfortunately for the Cowboys, they reside in the same division as the Philadelphia Eagles. If Philly can defeat Dallas on Christmas Eve, they’ll clinch the NFC East and likely the No. 1 seed in the conference as well.

Come December, the mood in Dallas tends to change. An upcoming matchup with the Eagles could change things, though it doesn’t alter the end result, which is more than likely Philadelphia being named NFC East champions.

Three touchdown passes from Dak Prescott weren’t enough. Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars offense moved the ball up and down the field against a Dallas pass defenses which possesses Trevon Diggs in the secondary, and Micah Parsons in the pass rush. It was a disappointing effort for both on Sunday.
