Miami Heat veteran big man got into a heated exchange with the coaches but got ejected when he tossed a massage gun onto the floor during his tantrum.

Just when you think that there’s nothing left that you haven’t seen in the NBA, they come out and find a new way to surprise you. And I have to believe that Miami Heat big man Dewayne Dedmon delivered such a moment during the TNT-broadcasted matchup against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Early in the second quarter during a timeout, Dedmon and head coach Erik Spoelstra, along with some other members of the coaching staff, got into a heated exchange on the sidelines. Dedmon was put on the bench as play resumed but the argument continued.

Whatever was said, it reached a boiling point and Dedmon started to storm away. But as he did so, he tossed a Theragun massage gun from behind the bench, launching all the way to the center of the court.

Naturally, that was enough to get the veteran big ejected from the game.

Heat: Dewayne Dedmon ejected for throwing massage gun on court after argument with coaches

If there’s another instance in league history of a player throwing a massage gun onto the floor and getting himself tossed for doing it, I’m certainly not aware of it.

So, congrats on making NBA history, Dewayne Dedmon.

The curious mind has to wonder what the exchange between Dedmon and the coaches was about and how it reached the point where he would do something so mindless in that moment. We’ve seen plenty of outbursts on the bench, but seeing something like this is definitely another level. He didn’t just lightly push the Theragun onto the floor. As the kids would say, he yeeted that thing halfway across the court.

In addition to his ejection, you have to believe a fine — either from the Heat or the NBA — is coming Dedmon’s way after this incident.
