How many interceptions has Dak Prescott thrown this season?
Dak Prescott interceptions have been a storyline all season for the Cowboys, but how many has the Dallas quarterback actually thrown?
Despite how well Cooper Rush played in relief for five games, the Dallas Cowboys have long known that they will go as far as franchise quarterback Dak Prescott can take them. However, the QB’s interceptions have been a sore subject this season.
Whether it was in the regular-season finale against Washington or at a number of other junctures, the fact of the matter is that Prescott has been turning the ball over this season unlike ever before.
But just how bad have the Dak Prescott interceptions been this season? Let’s take a look at the numbers.
How many interceptions has Dak Prescott thrown this season?
Despite playing in only 11 games in the regular season, Prescott led the NFL in interceptions with 15 on the season. He did throw 23 touchdowns to counteract that, but the turnovers were something that’s a bit foreign.
Prior to the 2022 regular season, Prescott’s previous high for interceptions was 13 back in only his second year in the league, 2017. He’d also never had an interception rate higher than 2.7% and was at 3.8% this year.
How many interceptions has Dak Prescott thrown in the playoffs?
What’s making Cowboys fans quite mad, however, is Prescott throwing interceptions on the biggest stage. He was near perfect in the 2023 playoff debut against the Bucs as he threw four touchdowns with no INTs. However, in the first half alone against the 49ers, he threw two picks.
Those two interceptions in San Francisco are already a career-high for the Cowboys quarterback in five previous career playoff games and he’s now just one pick away from matching his career total of postseason INTs (3).
