The 2023 NIT Selection Show details with the bracket, start time, TV channel, and everything you need for the iconic college basketball tournament reveal.

Every men’s college basketball team has hopes of spending March Madness as part of the field of 68. Unfortunately, that still leaves nearly 300 teams that don’t make the NCAA Tournament. The good news is that, if programs that just missed out so desire, the NIT still exists as one of the postseason staples of college basketball.

The National Invitational Tournament (NIT) — please don’t call it the NIT Tournament in the name of avoiding redundancy — was founded in 1938 and, with the final rounds often played in Madison Square Garden, it’s always a fun spectacle. Of course, it’ll be Orleans Arena hosting this year but there could be some big programs involved this year.

With North Carolina and Michigan, among others, likely on the wrong side of the bubble for March Madness, they could very well be invited to the NIT. That could make for some fun drama amid a host of other power conference programs that just missed out and mid-majors unfortunately not winning tournaments in one-bid leagues.

So there will be a lot of eyes waiting to see the 2023 NIT Selection Show with the potential major programs involved. We have you covered with everything you need to know to watch and to get ready for the tournament.

Though it’s obviously a bit smaller than the March Madness bracket with 32 teams in the NIT field instead of 68, it’s still a fun bracket to watch play out. Perhaps the best part about this tournament is the regional and campus sites for the early-round games, which can give you more of a home-court advantage if you are the higher seed for these matchups and creates a fun environment for fans.
