Not everyone can earn a ticket to March Madness. These five teams have the biggest gripe at being snubbed for the NCAA Tournament.

The March Madness bracket has been officially unveiled and the NCAA Selection Committee did a pretty good job filling out the field. The lack of bid thieves certainly helped the committee select 68 worthy teams for the field as the teams who missed the cut certainly had reasons for being snubbed.

That being said, you can always quibble with the exact order of the bottom of the bracket and whether or not the right teams got included. Let’s take a look at five programs with the biggest gripes, beginning with North Texas.

5. Biggest March Madness Snubs – North Texas Mean Green

In terms of the NET, the Mean Green were the highest-rated team not picked for the NCAA Tournament. No one can dispute that North Texas was a quality basketball team this season and would have made a worthy addition to the field, but the selection committee likely took issue with the lack of quality wins on their resume.

Having just one Quad 1 win wasn’t going to stand out for the Mean Green, who didn’t get many opportunities to play those games in Conference USA, but pairing that with a loss in Quad 3 and Quad 4 didn’t help. Mid-majors hoping to make the at-large pool need to make a big statement either by dominating their league or racking up impressive non-conference results, neither of which was accomplished by North Texas.
