The FDU Knights made it into March Madness as a No. 16 seed out of the Northeast Conference. Where is Fairleigh Dickinson University located?

One of the joys of watching March Madness is watching big time underdogs take on the goliaths of the college basketball world.

Every year, some plucky low seed makes life miserable for the highest-ranked contenders. This year, the FDU Knights want it to be them.

Of course, Fairleigh Dickinson University is not a household name. Few will know much about the university with enrollment of just 12,000.

Where is Fairleigh Dickinson University located?

The main campus for FDU basketball is located in New Jersey along the Hackensack river.

However, the university has another New Jersey campus located in Florham Park along with a campus in Vancouver and Wroxton in the southeast of England.

The Knights are no strangers to March Madness. They have made six previous NCAA Tournament appearances.

They debuted as a No. 16 seed in 1985, narrowly losing to No. 1 seed Michigan. They also made the field in 1988 before grabbing their highest seed at No. 15 in the 1998 tournament.

In 2016 FDU lost to Florida Gulf Coast in the First Four but they’ve won their two most recent First Four appearances. In 2019 they beat Prairie View A&M before falling to No. 1 Gonzaga.

This year they topped Texas Southern, 84-61, to earn the right to face off with No. 1 seed Purdue in the First Round.
