3 Nuggets players to thank for Game 4 win over Heat
The Nuggets won Game 4 of the NBA Finals to take a commanding 3-1 series lead over the Miami Heat as the series heads back to Denver.
The Nuggets are heading back to Denver with a chance to clinch the series and win the NBA title for the first time in their history.
Denver won Game 4, 108-95, over the Heat despite Nikola Jokic getting five fouls late, causing him to miss parts of the final quarter.
3 reasons the Nuggets won Game 4 over the Heat
Bruce Brown
Bruce Brown has been awesome on the defensive end of the floor all series. In Game 4, he was able to be that guy on the offensive end of the floor as well. He has had his moments in this series on the offensive end but it has all come off actions from other players. In this game, he was able to produce offense by himself.
At first, it seemed a bit weird that he was not dishing the ball off to Jokic or Jamal Murray. After a while, it seemed like the right thing for the Denver to do at times. He ended up with 21 points on 72 percent shooting.
The Nuggets needed someone to step up for Michael Porter Jr. who has struggled all series and Brown was that guy tonight.
Nikola Jokic
It was really tempting to put Murray because of his performance when Jokic was off the floor in the fourth. It was also really tempting to put Denver’s 50-percent shooting from three at this spot instead. Still, I had to go with the two-time MVP.
Jokic wasn’t able to dish the ball in this game but he ended up with 23 points on 42 percent shooting from the floor.
He also controlled the boards with 12 rebounds. He did end up with five fouls but one of those fouls stunk.
Aaron Gordon
Aaron Gordon had amazing game. He really came up big when Jokic was out in the fourth quarter. He had 27 points on 73 percent shooting from the floor.
At times, Gordon has seemed unbeatable for the Heat due to the fact that they do not have a big to guard him. Tonight that statement was completely true.
Also, he was able to space the floor out as he made three of his four threes in the game.
The Nuggets are now only one win away from an NBA title. With the home-court advantage that they have in Denver, it seems like the series is over. Denver has to finish the job in Game 5 and cannot leave Jimmy Butler a chance to come back.
