Dariel Figueroa, former contributor for Uproxx and Heavy, is a cultivator of curios and a proprietor of pop-culture opinion. He practiced MMA for six years and was almost a professional wrestler until a shoulder injury sidelined him. Now, he spends his time writing long and short form pieces on everything ranging from cinema to subculture. He loves burlesque puppet shows, French New Wave, the phrase "contemporary classic," and he tries to inject the word "visceral" into every one of his pieces. Dariel graduated from Rowan University with a double bachelor's in Film Production and Journalism.
