As a life long follower and devotee of the combative sports, my initiation began at the age of six, when my father allowed me to watch the legendary Muhammad Ali, along side him, on the sofa in Logan, Utah. After that, I was hooked and became a fan of the Sweet Science and such fighters as Ali, Larry Holmes, Sugar Ray Leonard, Marvin Hagler, and then as the years progressed, Arturo Gatti, Evander Holyfield, Mike Tyson, Oscar De La Hoya, and countless others. In 1994, I was introduced to the sport of MMA in the form of UFC 3, which back then, was only available for rental on VHS. As with boxing, it took just a moment for me to know this was something I had to follow, and have been doing so ever since. I have been fortunate enough to be able to string words together with enough proficiency to get to write for Buddhasport, then as a Featured Columnist at Bleacher Report (with some of my writing featured on CNN), and now Fanrag.com and at Fansided.com
