MLB stars got to have their fun on Sunday night, but now it's time to get back to the main event. The Little League World Series rolls on with four more games from Williamsport on Monday, and based on how the tournament has unfolded so far, we should be in for some serious fireworks.
We've already had comebacks, walk-offs and dramatic dingers across the first few days of play. Now we get our first significant batch of elimination games, which means the stakes — and the desperation — will be even higher. Here's everything to know about what's on tap at the Little League World Series on Monday, Aug. 24.
Little League World Series games on TV today
Play resumes in Williamsport on Monday with a quartet of games in which elimination will be on the line — two in the international bracket, and two in the U.S. bracket.
International bracket
- Panama (0-1) vs. Canada (1-1), 1 p.m. ET, ESPN
- Japan (1-1) vs. Europe-Africa (0-1), 5 p.m. ET, ESPN
The international side will kick us off at 1 p.m. ET, as Panama and Canada look to avoid a second loss and keep their LLWS journeys alive. Panama was on the wrong end of a heartbreaker in their opener against Latin America, taking a 3-2 lead into the sixth and final frame only to cough up four runs and eventually lose 6-4. Canada, meanwhile, got blanked by Asia-Pacific but rebounded with a decisive 4-0 win over Australia in the loser's bracket on Saturday.
The second game is a surprising one, as few expected Japan to wind up in the loser's bracket so soon. But a tournament-opening loss to Curaçao shouldn't derail one of the tournament favorites — they blased the Caribbean 10-1 in their first losers bracket game, and they'll be heavy favorites once again going up against the Europe-Africa team from the Czech Republic.
United States bracket
- Great Lakes (1-1) vs. Southwest (0-1), 3 p.m. ET, ESPN
- Southeast (1-1) vs. Mid-Atlantic (0-1), 7 p.m. ET, ESPN
The Great Lakes squad was six outs away from an opening win, only to fall to Mountain in walk-off fashion. They bounced back in a big way with a 10-0 win over New England, though, and now they'll take on the team from Boerne, Tex., which lost a 4-3 nail-biter to Northwest in their opener.
The team from Phenix City, Ala., kept its tournament alive in decisive fashion over the weekend, romping over West 12-2. Mid-Atlantic, meanwhile, lost a pitcher's duel to Metro in their first game and now find themselves facing elimination.

International bracket
- Latin America 8, Mexico 4

Break up the boys from Nicaragua. Latin America is now 3-0 in Williamsport, turning a 3-1 deficit into an 8-4 win thanks to a whopping seven runs in the bottom of the fifth. Having previously beaten both the Caribbean and Canada, they'll now face off with fellow unbeaten Curaçao with a spot in the international final on the line. (The loser of that game will drop to the losers bracket but will not be eliminated.)
And speaking of Curaçao: Arguably no team has been more impressive at this tournament so far, with consecutive shutout wins over Asia-Pacific and Japan stamping them as among the early title favorites.
United States bracket
- Mountain 5, Northwest 0
- Midwest 6, Metro 0
This Mountain team sure does love living on the edge. After a come-from-behind victory in their first game of the tournament, the squad from Henderson, Nev., busted out the rally caps again on Sunday, putting up five runs in the fifth to break open a scoreless game and improve to 2-0 in Williamsport.
They'll now play for a spot in the U.S. title game on Wednesday against Davenport, Iowa, which also stayed perfect over the weekend with a second consecutive shutout victory — this time over Metro. Runs will be at a premium in that game, and it feels like a true toss-up.

Canada did well to notch their first win in Williamsport and stave off elimination against Australia, but now the road gets much, much tougher. Panama looked awfully game in their 6-4 loss against Latin America and should advance in the losers bracket to a date with Asia-Pacific. The same is true for Japan, which suffered a surprising upset in its opener but is a heavy favorite against the Czech team.
On the U.S. side, things should be a bit tighter. Great Lakes has one of the deeper lineups in this tournament which should see them through, while Southeast's 12-2 win over West to stay alive suggests they're building momentum.
