Are the Arizona Coyotes for sale AGAIN?
It seems like every off-season, there’s another major story about the Arizona (formerly Phoenix) Coyotes that has nothing to do with hockey. This year, looks like we’re getting the pleasure of not one story, but two.

Earlier in the summer, Arizona fans were subjected to the pleasure of being overly scrutinized for what the mayor of Glendale, AZ claimed was a violation of the state’s open meeting policy prior to the team’s lease agreement was voted on. Those were really fun times, since nothing ever really came of the chaos other than more people whining about why Arizona should subsequently be moved.
Now, it seems that there’s a supposed deal in the works to sell the team. Again.
According to a story in the New York Post, Andrew Barroway- most recently known for his unsuccessful attempt to purchase the New York Islanders (and attempting to purchase the New Jersey Devils prior to that)- is “deep in negotiations” to purchase 51 percent of the Pacific Division franchise.
Do I think this is likely? No, but then again, I also thought that Max Domi would start the season in Arizona and not London. He’s also not planning to purchase the entire franchise- it looks like Anthony Leblanc and ICE Arizona would still be partial owners of the team, which would ensure that the team remained in the desert. Soooooo, things could actually work out for Barroway this time around.
Has anyone figured out why this guy is so desperate to own a hockey franchise- any franchise, it seems- anyway? Must find out what’s up with him.
